Blackboard: Maximum File Size for Uploads

When uploading files to your Blackboard course, please be mindful of their size; Blackboard has a file size limit of 2560 MB (2.5 GB).

  • Video files - We recommend YuJa for video file hosting. Just upload the files to your YuJa folder, then you can link or embed them directly in your Blackboard course. Total storage space is allocated according to a user's role: 150 GB for instructors and 10GB for students. Please see YuJa's help page for more information about file uploads and a list of compatible file types (including video, audio, documents, and more).
  • Other files - You can also use OneDrive to host large documents and other file types. To do that: upload the file(s) to your OneDrive folder, set permissions (who can edit or view), and share a link to the file in your course. The maximum file upload size is 250GB, with a total storage limit of 1TB per account.
