Blackboard Course Content: Track Student Views & Run Statistics Reports

Blackboard's Statistics Tracking feature allows instructors to view detailed access and usage statistics for selected content items in their course. This feature must be manually enabled in the settings of each content item you would like to track. It may be turned on after students have already interacted with the item, but the report will not include their previous activity.

Activate Statistics Tracking

This feature operates on an item-by-item basis; to use it for multiple items, please repeat the instructions below for each assignment/document/etc.

  1. Locate the desired item and click the grey circle/arrow to its right. From the drop-down menu, select Statistics Tracking (On/Off).Screenshot of a Blackboard course site > drop-down menu > Statistics Tracking (On/Off)
  2. This will open the 'Statistics Tracking' setting page. Click the radio button next to On, then click Submit to save the change.
