Blackboard

Blackboard is UND's learning management system connecting students, faculty and staff both inside and outside of the classroom. It is used for courses, organizations, committees, departments and groups.

Log into Blackboard with your NDUS.identifier and password. Some programs (Non-Credit Certificate Courses, LEND, and Nutrition and Food Service Professionals Training) do not use an NDUS.identifier and will be emailed log in credentials.

Campus Connection

The CampusConnection portal provides a secure and convenient access point to your personal and campus information. Once you claim your NDUS Account, you can check your application status, register for classes or update your personal information. 

Campus Connection requires your NDUS.identifier and password to log in.

Citrix allows you to remotely access various applications from home, work, and mobile devices from any location that has an internet connection by simply installing a small plugin (Citrix Receiver).

VPN stands for Virtual Private Network. Using UND's VPN convinces your computer that you are using the UND network for your work and therefore allows you to access shared drives. UND uses the Cisco AnyConnect client.

Digital Measures

Digital Measures is the system that UND faculty use to store professional development and academic information such as teaching, scholarship/research, and service. This data only needs to be entered once and is used for multiple reports, from CVs to the October Supplement.

Users need to talk to a DigitalMeasures representative to obtain a username and password.

Duo Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)

To provide increased security, the North Dakota University System has implemented Duo two-factor authentication when accessing sensitive information in PeopleSoft HRMS Employee Self-Service and all areas of PeopleSoft Finance from on and off campus locations.

Two-factor authentication adds a second layer of security to your online accounts by requiring a second factor (phone or other mobile device). This prevents someone from accessing your account, even if they have your username or password.

The North Dakota University System Account (NDUS.Identifier) is used to access most UND and NDUS systems. 

New students (credit courses only), faculty, and staff must claim their account.  The claim process includes: viewing a short video, completing an IT security quiz, and entering your date of birth and EMPLID/Student ID number.  At the end of the process, you will be given your NDUS.Identifier/username and will set your password and responses to your security questions.

The NDUS Account page requires your NDUS.identifier username and password.

ProctorU is a live online proctoring service available 24/7 that allows students to take exams from anywhere using a webcam and Internet connection. This service uses live proctors who monitor exams by observing the the student (via webcam) and his/her computer screen in real time.

ProctorU is a third party proctoring service. Usernames and passwords are created by the user.

Read&Write is an easy-to-use, intuitive toolbar add-on for PCs and Macs that supports students with reading, writing, studying, and research. Read&Write seamlessly integrates with Microsoft applications, PDFs, e-mail, the Internet, and other software. With over 20 tools available, you can:

  • Hear text read aloud to improve reading comprehension, with a choice of natural voices.
  • Understand unfamiliar words with text and picture dictionaries.
  • Highlight and copy text from documents and web pages to create study guides, outlines or complete assignments.
  • Supports writing skills with word prediction.
  • Turn text from documents and web pages into MP3 sound files for listening on the move.
  • Check writing mistakes with proofreading tools.

UND students, faculty, and staff are allowed one free copy of the Read&Write software.

ResNet

ResNet is an organization run by student staff under the supervision of the UND Housing. ResNet provides assistance with connecting to the campus network along with the following services:

TeamDynamix (TDX)

TurningPoint Response Systems (Clickers)

Audience response systems (clickers) allow students in the classroom to instantly provide feedback, answer questions, and vote.  TurningPoint is the standard adopted by the University of North Dakota.

Students may respond by using a "clicker" (a handheld device that allows them to vote or make a selection by pressing a button), or by setting up TurningPoint mobile on a web-enabled device such as a cell phone, laptop or mobile device.  For courses that are using TurningPoint, students must create an account and purchase a TurningPoint license code. The license code is required regardless of which device is used. 

Users will log into their Blackboard course using your NDUS.identifier and password, then navigate to Tools to select TurningPoint. Users will then need to create a Turning Account using their @UND.edu email account.
