Blackboard student course population

It typically takes up to 2 business days for a student to be enrolled in Blackboard, but may occur earlier. If the student registered on a Friday or over the weekend, then he/she should be enrolled in Blackboard by the following Monday afternoon.

  • By default, courses are automatically made available to students 1 week before the start of term.
  • Enrollments are pulled several times a day from Campus Connection into Blackboard.
  • The timing of Blackboard access and course access may be different for Enroll Anytime (independent study) and non-credit courses as well as certain certificate programs that have flexible start dates.
Students will not have access to semester-based courses until the instructor makes the course available. Not all on-campus courses utilize Blackboard, so not all instructors make the blackboard course available to students. The instructor must make the course available if Blackboard will be used for the course.

Courses are automatically created using the information in Campus Connection. If your department has changed instructors for a course and not changed the information in Campus Connection, the Blackboard course will reflect this.
