Respondus LockDown Browser is a custom web browser that is compatible with Mac and Windows. It is NOT compatible with Chromebooks. It locks down the testing environment within Blackboard, so test-takers are unable to print, copy, go to another URL, or access other applications. When an assessment is started, students are locked into it until they submit for grading.
Notes:
If you are required to use LockDown Browser for your exam, you must disable other proctoring browser extensions before opening Respondus LockDown Browser.
Some exams require the use of YuJa Proctoring (webcam and screen monitoring software)
in addition to Respondus LockDown Browser. If that is a requirement for your exam, please see
this article about using both applications simultaneously. For regular exams without the camera requirement, you may proceed to the next section.
