How do I get started using ProctorU?

ProctorU is a live, online proctoring service available 24/7 that allows students to take exams from anywhere using a webcam and Internet connection. Live proctors who monitor exams by observing the student (via webcam) and his/her computer screen in real time. Students pay a fee to use ProctorU.

Students will need to use Google Chrome and install the ProctorU Google Chrome extension when taking exams with ProctorU. View more information on ProctorU Live+

Get Started with ProctorU

1. Check with the course instructor to find out if ProctorU is allowed for the course.*

2. Designate ProctorU as the proctor for the desired course within the UND Proctoring web portal.

3. Students must create a ProctorU account and schedule an exam appointment with ProctorU. View this ProctorU help guide or visit ProctorU's web site to learn more about how it works.  For assistance, please contact ProctorU at 1-855-772-8678. 

*Note: Courses using PDF exams require special equipment.  A list of equipment and testing instructions can be found in the Blackboard Student Resource Course under the Taking Tests menu item within the Test Equipment for ProctorU folder. Distance Engineering Degree Program (DEDP) students, contact the DEDP office at 701.777.4333 with any questions.
