 You must claim your NDUS account on a computer to access UND systems. Mobile devices are not compatible.


  1. Find your EMPLID on your acceptance letter or by following the steps under the "Find my EMPLID" menu.
  2. Go to UND Claim.
  3. Select the Claim Your Account button.
  4. Play the short video from the NDUS Chancellor.
  5. Enter your EMPLID and date of birth.

Enter your EMPLID and date of birth on the following page.

  1. Click Continue.
  2. The next screen will provide your NDUS.identifier which you use to log into most UND systems.
  3. Check the box to agree to NDUS policies and then select Continue.
  4. There will be a confirmation that your account has been activated.
  5. Click Continue.
  6. Now follow the rules to create your password. Then confirm your password.

  1. Click Change Password. You will receive a confirmation.
  2. Select Continue.
  3. Your account is now claimed and you should have access to most UND systems.
Warning! Blackboard takes an additional 2 days after claiming your account to gain access.

Change Password

Info! Do not use your UND email address as your alternate email address because it makes it easier for your account to be compromised and you will not be able to change your password without calling UND Tech Support.

 

  1. Go to the Your NDUS Account page.
  2. Select the Account Maintenance (Change Password) button.
  3. You must log into the North Dakota University System with your NDUS.identifier and current password to continue.
  4. Once logged in, select the Change Password button.

  1. Next you will be asked to create a password to associate with your NDUS.identifier. 
  2. After submitting, you should receive a message stating that your password has been changed.
Danger! Users that have entered the incorrect login information or had failed logins ten (10) times within a ten (10) minute period will be locked out of the system for ten (10) minutes. Passwords changed by the UND Help Desk or NDUS Help Desk will expire in three (3) days and should be reset by the user within that time. Users can change their NDUS.identifier password at any time through the North Dakota University System portal, but are limited to once a day.​​​​​

Forgot Password?

  1. Go to the Your NDUS Account page.
  2. Select the Forgot Password? button.

  1. Enter your NDUS.identifier to continue and select Search.

  1. Select how you would like to verify your identity, either by Email Verification  or Mobile Device Verification.
Warning! These methods only work if you have previously set them up. If you have not, you must call UND Tech Support to have your identity verified over the phone.

  1. Follow the prompts for your authentication method to complete the password retrieval.

Find My EMPLID

Check Your Email

  1. Check your email for a message from the NDUS Help Desk (NDUS.HelpDesk@NDUS.edu). It may be in the Junk or Spam folder.
  2. One of the messages asked you to Claim your account, this message includes your EMPLID.
    • The other message has the Subject  ND University System Account Information which provides information on how to obtain your EMPLID.

Check Campus Connection

  1. If you still cannot access your EMPLID go to Campus Connection.
  2. Click Guest Page.

  1. On the left side of the page, click Find my EMPLID.
  2. Enter your information, then click Submit.

Setup Alternate Email

  1. Go to the Your NDUS Account page.

Preferred Name Change

Students looking to change their preferred name may do so in Campus Connection:

  • Log in to Campus Connection
  • Click Profile in the main menu
  • Under Personal Details, click on Your Name then, Type listed as Preferred Name
  • Update First Name and save
  • Additional Changes
    • Legal name changes must be done with the Name Change form through the Office of the Registrar.
    • Addresses (Home, Permanent, or Parent) can be updated under on Campus Connection Profile under Addresses
    • Emergency Contacts can be updated on Campus Connection Profile under Emergency Contacts

If you would like to update or change your legal name, complete the form linked below.

If you do not have an NDUS Username and Password, please contact the Office of the Registrar directly at 701.777.2711.

If you would need to change or update your Social Security number, simply bring in an ID and your Social Security card.


Username Change

  • Complete the username change form to submit a request to have your UND username changed.
  • The entire process will take 2-7 business days to complete. 
Warning! Campus Connection or HRMS must reflect your name change before your NDUS.identifier/Username can be changed.
