There can be a few reasons a user is "locked out" of their NDUS account: Users that have sent multiple Duo push or call notifications that went unanswered will lock the account. Users that have entered the incorrect login information or had failed logins ten (10) times within a ten (10) minute period will be locked out of the system for ten (10) minutes. A user's account may have been deprovisioned as per UND policy immediately after staff or faculty leave the university, and 18 months after students were last enrolled. If UND Cybersecurity believes your account to be compromised by a stolen password, they may lock the account and require users to call and confirm their ID. Passwords changed by the UND Help Desk or NDUS Help Desk will expire (lock) in three (3) days and should be reset by the user within that time. Users can change their NDUS.identifier (aka, "user.name") password at any time through the North Dakota University System portal, but are limited to once a day. If you've been locked out of your account for any reason, please contact UIT for assistance at 701.777.2222 Info! If you've forgotten, and cannot reset your password with your recovery email, the UIT Service Center can reset your account password for you.
