Summary
A single user exam can be created in ProctorU for students who are granted an exception and allowed to take an exam during a separate exam window. This article show the steps for setting up the single user exam in ProctorU for a student and links to instructions for setting up an exam exception in Blackboard.
Body
If a student needs to take a ProctorU Live+ exam outside the regular exam window (such as for a make-up exam), a single user exam can be created in ProctorU. This will allow the student to schedule a time to take the exam with ProctorU, without other students in the course being able to schedule during that time. Please note that for courses using the ProctorU Auto with Review+ option, you do not need to create a single user exam. Instead, you can simply add an exception in the Blackboard test for the student who needs an extended exam window.
- Within Blackboard, access the course where the exam is posted. Check to make sure you have set an exception for the student in your Blackboard exam settings.
- In the Course Menu, select Tools and then select ProctorU to log in.
- As long as the exam has already been activated, you can create a single user exam from the existing exam.
- First, select the iteration by clicking on the name of the appropriate exam listed on the dashboard
- Next, click the Exam Options button and select Create Single User Exam
- Within the Single User Exam, select the Test-Taker who you would like to make the separate exam window available to.
- Scroll down and make any other necessary changes within the exam iteration. Specifically, make sure you adjust the exam window at the very bottom of the form. This window will be set for the individual test taker or the test taker selected above.
- Be sure to also set an exception for the student/s in your Blackboard exam settings, so that the Blackboard exam will be available during the exam window.
- Click Submit for Review. The test taker will receive an email from ProctorU with a link to click on to schedule their exam. If they do not receive the email, they can sign into ProctorU and find the exam waiting for them to schedule.
