VoiceThread is a presentation and collaboration tool that is available in Blackboard. Students can create their own 'VoiceThreads' – multi-media presentations with images, documents, and videos. Then other students (and instructors) can navigate the slides and leave comments at any point in the presentation using voice, text, audio file, or video recordings. The new VoiceThread assignments are a major overhaul and redesign of the entire experience. Some of the new features include:

A streamlined interface
More control for instructors
Editable assignments
A "student gallery" where students can easily see classmates' VoiceThreads
Better feedback for students

How to Access VoiceThread

VoiceThread is a web application which can be accessed using any Internet browser, so you don't need to download any applications to get started. There are two places that you can access VoiceThread using your browser: directly on the VoiceThread website -or- inside of any Blackboard course (better for assignments).

Inside of Any Blackboard Course Site (Recommended)

Access a UND Blackboard course.
Select a VoiceThread link created by your instructor to launch an assignment created using VoiceThread through Blackboard.
If you would like a larger screen to work with, select Open in full-size tab in the upper right-hand corner of the assignment screen. This will open a new browser tab and take you to UND's VoiceThread website.

Outside of the Blackboard System

Navigate to UND's VoiceThread website.
Select Sign in in the upper-right corner.
Select Sign in via institution.
Search for University of North Dakota.
Make sure it says "Your current institution is University of North Dakota" and the sign-in method is ADFS and select Sign in.
Enter your NDUS username and password, then click Sign In *If you get a screen asking for Federation Consent, click Yes.
Once signed in, select the book icon on the left-hand side to locate your Blackboard course with VoiceThread assignments.
