Apporto can be accessed two ways:

  1. Via BlackBoard (recommended)
  2. Via Apporto website

Some of your courses in BlackBoard integrate with Apporto, allowing special features your instructor can configure. If using Apporto with a UND course, please access the tool through BlackBoard first to establish the Course group membership.

  1. Go to UND BlackBoard. Your BlackBoard username will be your NDUS dotted identifier and your BlackBoard password will be your NDUS dotted identifier password.
  2. Select the BlackBoard course for which your instructor has Apporto set up for use.
  3. Within the course you will see a link in the toolbar called, “Apporto GPU Desktop-UND.”
  4. Click on the link to start the process of signing in.
  5. If you are a first-time user, the loading of Apporto software could take a moment.
  6. Click the title of the GPU Desktop (resource intensive apps), or the Windows Desktop (basic performance for most users) to see a brief list of applications installed in those virtual machines. Click Launch to start the respective virtual machine.
  7. At the top of the screen, you will see a menu which you can use to upload and download documents as well as other tools you can use.
  8. Select the application you wish to run.
  9. When you are done using the application you can save the file and close.
  10. To disconnect from Apporto, simply close the browser tab. Be sure any files you were saving to cloud storage have completed upload before disconnecting.
