Get MatLAB

UND offers a campus-wide license to MATLAB.  All faculty, researchers, and students are eligible to download and install these products on their university computers as well as their personally-owned computers.

Register Download Install

Register for a MathWorks account & MATLAB License

1. Go to University of North Dakota MATLAB Portal. ​​​​
2. Scroll down and click Sign in to get started.
3. UND users will need to select Create Account on the sign in screen.
4. You MUST use your user.name@UND.edu email for account creation.
5. Complete the form and select Create.
6. You will be prompted to verify your email.
7. Open the verification email [service@mathworks.com] and click the link to verify your account.
8. Finish creating your profile and click Create.

Download MATLAB

1. You will be taken to the My Software page where your MATLAB download link and license number will be listed. Click the download arrow to download the software.

2. On the Downloads page, Click the blue download button.
   
3. On the next screen, select your Operating System and the file will download to your machine.

Install MATLAB

1. When the download is finished, open the installer file. It should be found in your Downloads folder.

2. The files will unzip. If prompted, allow the program to make changes to your computer and allow access.
3. Sign in with your @UND.edu email address and the MATLAB specific password you created. Then click Sign In.

4. Accept the licence agreement and click Next.
5. Your licence should already be selected. Click Next.
6. Confirm your user information and click Next.
7. Select your destination folder and click Next.
8. On the Select products page, click Next.
9. On the Select Options page, make your selections and click Next.
10. Confirm your selections and click Begin Install.
11. The installation may take several minutes. You will receive a confirmation when the installation is complete and ready to use.
