Use this service offering to request an exemption from the North Dakota University System (NDUS) block on BitTorrent protocols. To request an exemption from the blocks currently in place for BitTorrent, please select the appropriate button to the right and complete the request form.

 

Submit an End-point Security Software/Policy Exemption

Use this service offering to request an exemption from End-point Security Software/Policy, such as Cortex, for UND computers. If you have or administer UND owned computers and would like an exemption to having an approved endpoint security software, such as Cortex installed, please select the appropriate button to the right and complete the request form.

 

Submit a Voluntary Product Accessibility Template (VPAT) Exemption

Use this service offering to request an exemption from Voluntary Product Accessibility Template (VPAT) requirements. The VPAT is a self-disclosing document from a vendor which evaluates how accessible a particular product is according to ADA Section 508 Standards.  It is used by buyers to determine potential deficiencies and accessibility issues prior to purchase. To request an exemption from a VPAT for a software product currently being reviewed for purchase, please select the appropriate button to the right and complete the request form.

 

Submit an IT Asset Management Policy Exemption

Use this service offering to request an exemption from one or more items contained in the UND IT Asset Management policy. While the University may assign an IT Asset to a faculty, staff member or public area for academic or administrative use, the IT Asset remains the property of the University throughout its life-cycle, from initial acquisition to provisioning to the end of its useful life. Effective asset management and control allows UND to reduce spending, eliminate wasteful hardware and software, protect confidential information, and improve security. Accurate data will lead to better business decision-making across UND.All information technology assets owned by the University of North Dakota will be governed by this policy for life-cycle management of IT assets. Exceptions to the policy must be in writing, clearly identify the reason for the exemption, and have the university Chief Information Officer’s approval.
