Get Help with Multi-Factor Authentication (DUO MFA)

UND uses DUO Security (Multi-Factor Authentication) MFA to provide you with even better security for your sensitive information.

Multi-Factor Authentication is an online security system for your sensitive and personal information. It requires more than just a password for access. The goal is to create a layered defense for your data so that an unauthorized person finds it more difficult to access. If your password becomes compromised, there will be another level of security to keep your information safe.

Situations in which a hardware token would be necessary include:

  • Restricted areas where mobile phones are not allowed and landline phones are unavailable.
  • Remote or isolated areas with no cellular service, Wi-Fi reception and landline phones are unavailable.
  • You do not own or have access to a mobile/cell phone, tablet or landline phone number for authentication.
  • Other situations where preferred authorization methods cannot be used will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
