Check Ethernet Services to make sure they are running

To connect a desktop or laptop to an ethernet port that is protected by ISE there are services on your computer that the Tool should turn on. We have seen some issues with it where it will not turn them on and you will sometimes manually need to do this. Follow this guide to check your Ethernet Services and turn them on if needed.

How to check your Ethernet Services to make sure they are running

  1. Click the Windows button.
  2. Search for Services.
  3. Look for Wired AutoConfig.

Wired AutoConfig Properties

  1. Make sure it is set to Automatic. If it is set to Manual continue with these steps:
    1. Right click Wired AutoConfig and click Properties.
    2. Change the Startup Type from Manual to Automatic.
    3. Click Start to start the service.
    4. Click Apply and then OK to set changes.
    5. Check your ethernet connection to see if connection has been restored.
