Removing An Apple Device From Your Apple ID

 

In order to complete certain services, UIT may require you to remove your device from your Apple ID temporarily.

  1. Sign in to icloud.com, then select the Find My icon.

  2. From the All Devices panel, select the device you want to remove from your Apple ID.
    On mobile devices, you may need to click "All Devices" at the top.

  3. Select the device to find its details.Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)

    Danger! The ability to remotely erase your device is available in this area. Erasing the device will remove all data not backed up and cannot be recovered by UIT or Apple.

  4. Select Remove This Device. Then you will be able to give the device to UIT for service.

  5. Once UIT has returned your device, sign back in to reassociate it with your Apple ID.

 
Warning! Removing your Apple device from your Apple ID prevents the device from being found with the Find My feature. Be sure to sign back in from your device in order to re enable the the feature and protect your device from theft or loss.
