YuJa Video Editor: How to Edit the Video Index

Summary

YuJa automatically generates an index (text-based outline) for every video by scanning its audio and visual content. The video's index is made available to viewers during playback to help them navigate directly to desired topics. Because the index is automatically-generated, it is always a good idea to review and manually edit it before sharing your video. Please see this article for more information about how users can edit their video's index.

Body

YuJa automatically generates an index (text-based outline) for every video by scanning its audio and visual content. The video's Index is made available to viewers during video playback, where they can click on the Index icon to view it in a side panel. In the Index, they may click on any of the topics in the text outline to jump directly to the corresponding part of the video. This is especially useful for finding specific sections of a presentation, or navigating longer video recordings (e.g.: to help students review a topic for an exam).

Because the Index is automatically generated by YuJa, it is always a good idea to review and manually edit it before sharing your video. This may be done using YuJa's Video Editor, which provides users the ability to add, change, or delete Index content -or- to adjust the timestamps associated with the Index. Please see YuJa's help page for more information.

YuJa offers integrated AI captioning with a 90-95% accuracy rate (free for all to use) and human captioning (by request only). This process automatically creates closed captions for any YuJa video, which are available during video playback on any device. The automated voice-to-text captioning process also creates transcripts that can be downloaded by the viewer, as well as edited by the Content Owner. This accessibility feature provides for Section 508 compliance.
