YuJa is UND’s enterprise video platform, integrated with Blackboard Ultra, that allows faculty and students to create, manage, share, and view video content securely. This guide explains how to access YuJa, install the Software Capture tool, create recordings, and share videos within Blackboard or directly through the YuJa platform.

The YuJa's Lumina Enterprise Video Platform is an all-in-one video experience used by UND to securely create, manage, view, and share video content across devices. YuJa integrates with Blackboard Ultra, creating a streamlined user experience for both faculty and students.

Access YuJa
Users can access YuJa by clicking a link in their Blackboard course, or they can go directly to the YuJa website.
Students and Instructors: Blackboard Course > Books & Tools menu (video demo)

Open the desired Blackboard Ultra course.

From the Details & Actions menu (on the right side of the screen), select Books & Tools.

Select UND YuJa.

Click on the new link to view your course's YuJa course channel.

Open your desired Blackboard Ultra course.

Select the purple (+) menu and select Content Market.

Scroll down and select UND YuJa CIM Tool.

Select the desired video.

Click Insert Content (in the bottom-right corner).

The video will appear as a clickable link, which will open video playback in a new Blackboard tab.
Instructors: Blackboard Course > inside of any Document > use the 'Add Content' menu (video demo)

Open your desired Blackboard Ultra course.

Select the purple (+) menu and choose Create.

Select Document to open the document editor.

In the top menu of the document editor, click Content.

Choose + Insert Content, and from the drop-down, select Content Market.

Scroll down and select UND YuJa CIM Tool.

Choose a video, and click Insert Content (in the bottom-right corner).

Rename the item (if desired), and select Insert.

Finishing editing the document; you may change the name, add a description or other text, etc.

Click Save in the top-right.

The new document will appear as a clickable link, which will open the document you just created in a new Blackboard tab. The video may be viewed within the document's tab.
Everyone: Access the YuJa website directly:

Go to https://und.yuja.com/.

Click Login (in the upper right corner of the page).

Sign in with your NDUS.identifier (example: jane.doe).
IMPORTANT: First time users must log in to YuJa using the link in their Blackboard Ultra course — this will create their YuJa account with the appropriate permissions and storage for their role. After that, users can sign in to the YuJa site directly, or navigate to it through Blackboard.
Download and Install the YuJa Application
If you would like to create your own YuJa recordings, you must first download and install YuJa's video recording application: YuJa Software Capture. This will allow you to record any combination of: your screen, webcam, internal microphone, external microphone, and more! Please see the Download & Installation help article for more information.

Create Recordings
There are three ways that users can create YuJa recordings:
- Start from the YuJa website > Create Recording.
- Open the YuJa Software Capture application, sign in with your Single Sign On (regular username and password) > Create Recording.
- Start from Blackboard > find and click on the YuJa tool link > Create Recording.

Manage and Share Recordings
There are several ways you can share your videos.
- Link out to any video - Each YuJa video has its own URL that you can copy and paste anywhere a regular website link could go!
- Embed any video in Blackboard - Students can watch the video without leaving your class.
- Publish a video to a Course Media Channel - Channels can be linked in Blackboard, so all of your videos are accessible in one place.
