If you use external speakers, this is where they plug in.

Display Options(Monitors)

This option will depend on the type of monitor cables you have. To figure out which cables you have, look at the port, or the end of the cable. DP cables are rectangles with one corner cut out as shown below.

Display Option 1 - Display Port

One end of the cable plugs into the DP port on your monitor and the other end plugs into the DP port on the dock. Since there are 2 DP ports on the dock, you can plug in 2 monitors. This cable will only fit into the correct ports.

Display Option 2 - HDMI

One end of the cable plugs into the HDMI port on your monitor and the other end plugs into the HDMI port on the dock. This cable will only fit into the correct ports.

Display Option 3 - USB-C Display Port

These ports are for additional accessories, like mouse and keyboard. Plug in as needed.

Internet Ethernet cord

If you connect to the internet with a cable, plug it into this port. If you use Wi-Fi, you do not need to use this port. This cord will only fit in this port.

Power cable

plug one end into an outlet and the other end into the port. This cord will only fit in this port.

Thunderbolt 3

You can use it to connect your Mac or PC to displays, transfer data quickly between computers and hard drives, daisy chain external devices, and power up - all with just one physical connection. Remember that not all USB Type-C ports support Thunderbolt 3.

Connecting to your laptop

  1. There is only 1 cable the comes directly out of the docking station. This cable will also charge your laptop.  Plug the USB-C into your laptop USB-C port. This plug will only fit into the correct ports.
  2. Turn on your laptop, monitor, and all accessories connected to the dock to check if they work.

Setting up your display options

  1. Once you are logged into your new computer setup, right-click on the background and select Display Settings.
  2. You should see your monitor placements displayed. You can drag and drop those to match your configuration.
  3. Scroll down to Multiple Displays and in the drop down menu, select Extend these displays.
  4. Confirm by selecting Keep these changes.
