The Heads-up display (HUD) places your frequently used extensions at your fingertips. In the HUD, you can create a list of extensions and easily call, text, and monitor them in one place.
Desktop and Web
Turning on the HUD in the desktop and web app
- Click Settings in the navigation bar.
- Click the Phone tab.
- Under General, click the toggle to turn on the Heads-up display (HUD).
Note: If you monitor other extensions, you can click Manage and turn on Ring when extensions I am monitoring receive incoming calls, then click Save.

Accessing the HUD
After turning on the HUD:
- Click Phone in the navigation bar.
- Click the HUD tab.

Note: Only the Extensions category is displayed by default. To set up additional categories, contact your admin or RingCentral Customer Support.
Viewing the HUD in a separate window
The HUD can be popped out into a separate window and viewed independently from the app.
To pop out:
- Click the three-dot More icon on the top right.
- Click Pop out HUD.

To reattach:
- Click the three-dot More icon on the top right.
- Click Reattach HUD.
