Cortex XDR FAQ

What is Cortex XDR?

Cortex XDR is an Endpoint Security anti-virus software. You can find out more information on their Cortex XDR product website.

Who is affected?

Anyone using a UND-owned computer will have Cortex XDR installed. This includes office computers, both on and off campus. If you are an adjunct faculty or staff member using a UND-owned computer that does not visit campus, please contact UND Tech Support to make arrangements to receive this very important software.

What happens now?

Faculty and Staff with UND owned computers located off campus should contact UND Tech Support at 701.777.2222 to get this critical security software installed.

What's the plan for Cortex XDR rollout?

The UIT team is instituting very specific maintenance windows for future software deployments, potentially resulting in regular monthly update maintenance. These times would exclude business and class times during the week. Software deployments are scheduled to take place between 10 PM and 7 AM to avoid interruption of classes.

Are there any known issues with this software deployment?

If you experience any issues, please contact UND Tech Support so we can document and troubleshoot this issue.
