Summary

All UND owned computers connecting to UND network are required to have university’s antivirus software.

Anti-virus is not required on any Student devices, only UND-owned devices. This article is only informational for students to ensure they are aware of a variety of options.

Students

Anti-virus is not required on student-owned devices, but anti-virus protection is highly recommended to reduce the risk of malware and account compromise. Built-in protection (such as Microsoft Defender on Windows) is acceptable, or you may use any reputable, up-to-date anti-virus product. If you need help, contact UND Tech Support. Below is a list of commonly utilized anti-virus software.

Faculty and Staff

Anyone using a UND-owned computer will have Cortex XDR installed. This includes office computers, both on and off campus. If you are an adjuct faculty or staff member using a UND-owned computer that does not visit campus, please contact UND Tech Support to make arrangements to receive this very important software.
