How Do I Get Tech Support or Contact UIT?

If you're wondering "where can I get tech help?", "where is UIT?", "where is the UIT help desk?", "when are you open?", "how do I contact UIT?" etc, this information should help.

  • UIT and the Service Desk are located on the Lower Level of the Chester Fritz Library at the center of campus.
  • At the Service Desk, also known as the "help desk", you can bring in your device for issue troubleshooting, use guidance, configuration and setup, and repair. Note only students can bring in personal devices. Faculty and staff are limited to UND-issued device assistance.
  • Students, faculty, and staff can also stop by the help desk for general tech-related questions.
  • Students can borrow laptops at no charge from the Service Desk while their devices are being repaired or replaced.
  • Faculty and staff can check out laptops at no charge if their department has submitted an order for a replacement UND-issued laptop.
  • Online, help can be found by visiting the UIT Knowledge Base, the UIT homepage, chatting with our AI chatbot, Talk to the Hawk, or by starting a chat session with a live agent during available hours.
  • To talk to someone immediately, 24/7, call 701.777.2222
  • For less urgent issues and requests, visit our services page where you can submit a ticket and get a response within 24 business hours. Or start a Quick Ticket right now.
  • Hours of operation can be found here: UND.edu/uit/hours. We're generally open whenever the library is. But be sure to check hours before visiting.
