Class Collaborate to Be Discontinued on December 22, 2026

NDUS has decided not to renew its contract for Class Collaborate (also known as Class for Web and Blackboard Collaborate Ultra) after the Spring 2027 semester.

To ensure that UND instructors have sufficient time to transition to an alternative platform, the Blackboard integration for Class Collaborate will be disabled at the end of the Fall 2026 semester.

Zoom and Microsoft Teams are recommended alternatives. If you are currently using Class Collaborate, please make plans to transition to another platform and discontinue its use by the end of the Fall 2026 semester

Class Collaborate is a real-time video conferencing tool that lets you add files, share applications, and use a virtual whiteboard to interact. Class Collaborate opens right in your browser, so you don't have to install any software to join a session. To get started follow the steps below.

In the Blackboard Ultra course experience the tool is turned off by default.  To turn the tool on follow these steps:

  1. Click the Course Settings gear icon in the top right corner in your course.
  2. Find the Virtual Classroom option
  3. Toggle the Allow Student Access option to on (green check) and close the window.
  4. Select the three dots to the right of the Class Collaborate option in your course menu.  This will provide the options to manage sessions, edit settings, etc.
