Class Collaborate is a real-time video conferencing tool that lets you add files, share applications, and use a virtual whiteboard to interact. Class Collaborate opens right in your browser, so you don't have to install any software to join a session. To get started follow the steps below.

In the Blackboard Original course experience:

  1. Go to the Tools area of your Blackboard course or organization.
  2. Select Class Collaborate Ultra.
  3. Select room settings as desired. For more information on room settings options, visit the Tutorials tab.

In the Blackboard Ultra course experience the tool is turned off by default.  To turn the tool on follow these steps:

  1. Click the Course Settings gear icon in the top right corner in your course.
  2. Find the Virtual Classroom option
  3. Toggle the Allow Student Access option to on (green check) and close the window.
  4. Select the three dots to the right of the Class Collaborate option in your course menu.  This will provide the options to manage sessions, edit settings, etc.

If you are using the Class Collaborate tool, you have one room dedicated to your course. It is open for the life of your course. You can't create new sessions.
