Summary

CircleIn is a digital peer-to-peer study platform and virtual learning community designed for university students. The integrated AI tutor tool supports learning while maintaining academic integrity.

Body

Overview

CircleIn is an online platform with two major components: a student-led study community and a virtual academic assistant.

Student-Led Community

CircleIn's online peer-to-peer study space functions like a virtual library or coffee shop. Students have access to tools that allow them to:

  • Chat with classmates and build community to collaborate remotely
  • Video conference in rooms where students can form their own study groups
  • Create and share flashcards to study for class
  • Ask anonymous questions and search for answers
  • Create and share class notes with other students
  • Manage course-related tasks

Virtual Academic Assistant

An integrated AI tutor is available 24/7 to assist students with homework and explain difficult course concepts. CircleIn's AI assistant is designed with higher education in mind; it will not produce direct answers or write essays, but it will guide students through difficult concepts to support their independent learning in the course. Additionally, the tutor provides faculty with information about student engagement, so they can address any class-wide learning gaps.
