● Simple Syllabus: Allow Instructor/TA to Access Another Instructor's Syllabus

Instructions for Simple Syllabus admins: How to allow a user to access course belonging to another instructor, so they can copy or review it.

On occasion, an instructor may need access to another instructor’s syllabus in Simple Syllabus. One common reason is a full-time instructor might want to copy their syllabus over to sections being taught by adjuncts or teaching assistant. Another reason is an instructor might want to see the syllabus from the prior course instructor. 

Note: Similar to doing a Blackboard Course Copy, you need permission from the owner of the original syllabus or department chair.

Steps

  1. Log in to Simple Syllabus.
     
  2. Click on Admin in the upper right corner of the screen.

  3. Then click on the Roles tile.
     
  4. Click on the number next to Instructor.

  5. Search for the Instructor’s name. Or, if you are copying the syllabus for the instructor, search for your own name. Then select Edit.A screenshot of the Simple Syllabus 'Accounts' page.   6. Click on the Roles Tab.

  7. Then next to the instructor’s (or your) name select Add New Role.
     
  8. From the drop-down menu, select Syllabus Editor.
     
  9. Select the term. If the instructor is trying to copy over a syllabus from a previous semester, you will need to select a term under 'Historic'. If they are trying to copy a syllabus to another section of the course for this semester, you will need to select the current term.

  12. Finally, select the course you want to copy from.
