Introduction to OneDrive for Business

Did you know you have 1 TB of file storage at your disposal with Office 365? Like other cloud storage services, OneDrive let"s you upload, organize, and share files and folders --all from your Office 365 account.

  1. To access your OneDrive for Business, log into your Office 365 email in your browser.
  2. In the top left, click on the Office 365 Apps icon and select the OneDrive app.

  1. The default view in OneDrive shows your files and folders.
  • The folder navigation works the same way as the file explorer on a Windows computer.
  1. On the left navigation, you can change from Files view to Recent-- to view your recently active OneDrive files or Shared With Me--to view any files or folders others have shared with you.

  • The Discover tab searches for items that may be relevant to you.
  • And the Recycle bin is where files go when you delete them.
    • They will stay there for 90 days in case you need to restore files-or you decide to permanently delete them.
  1. From the Files view, you can add a new folder or file.

  • You can upload files and folders from your computer.
  • And you can sync OneDrive to your computer.
  1. Files can also be deleted, moved, copied, renamed, or shared.

Open, Share, Copy link, Delete, Move to, Copy to, and Rename buttons.

  • To share files and folders, navigate to and highlight the file or folder you want to share.
  • You can either right-click and make your selection,or select from the top navigation.
  • Share will prompt you to enter the email addresses of people you want to share with.
  • Get a link generates a URL to the file that can be emailed.
  1. At the bottom of the left-side navigation, you will see Get the OneDrive Apps. This is a link to download the OneDrive app onto your computer, mobile device, and Xbox so you can sync all your devices together.
